Sociology at Plymouth brings real issues of inequality, difference and diversity into sharp focus. Supported by a nationally renowned academic team, the programme develops students’ sociological imagination exploring how our lives and experiences are shaped by diverse influences. Topics include class, ethnicity, embodiment, food, gender, health, media, poverty and social theory. Drawing on contemporary public issues and private troubles, and utilising a range of methodological approaches, it encourages a critical and reflexive approach to everyday life.
