Healthcare systems all share one current goal: to deliver safer, higher quality care within budget and to achieve this with a varying mix of staff. This MSc is an updated version of our previous MSc Simulation and Patient Safety which has at its central core the utilisation of simulation, improvement and safety sciences, together with human factors and ergonomics, enabling our students to deliver advances in quality and safety in their workplace.

Through studying this programme, our students are equipped with the technical expertise to become credible leaders in healthcare improvement, patient safety, simulation and human factors.  Our faculty is drawn from the University, NHS trusts and external experts in each subject, including national leads.  Our programme equips you with the vital skills to implement change and improvement within a healthcare system. This expertise, together with an appreciation of the leadership techniques required to implement change, will help you to get the most from your foundation years as well as enhancing your overall career prospects by being able to demonstrate your successes in healthcare improvement.
